80% Back Oil Strike Plan
New polling data shows strong public support for targeting Russian refineries, even as Washington weighs reducing military aid.

Eight out of ten Ukrainians support striking Russian oil refineries, according to a new survey released by the Kyiv International Institute of Sociology.
The poll, conducted via telephone between October 16 and October 25, 2026, asked adults in government-controlled areas whether Kyiv should continue attacking these facilities if the United States stops or limits aid. Eighty percent of the 828 respondents said yes. Only 11 percent said the strikes should stop, while 8 percent remained undecided.
The institute also measured how long citizens are prepared to endure the conflict. Sixty-three percent said they are ready to continue the war for as long as necessary. Five percent indicated a one-year timeframe. Twenty-one percent cited a shorter period of a few months to half a year, and 11 percent were undecided.
The survey covered adults aged 18 and older residing in Ukrainian territory under government control. The formal statistical margin of error was 4.4% for indicators near 50%, 3.8% near 25%, 2.7% near 10%, and 1.9% near 5%. The institute noted that wartime conditions introduce systematic deviations that may affect result quality.
The findings provide a snapshot of public sentiment during a period of uncertainty regarding American support. The data reflects the views of those living in the parts of Ukraine currently administered by the government.
