KBOO will air a special edition of Cascadia Coffeehouse on Friday morning to mark the arrival of November. The program features new music from eight groups and soloists, including Mama's Broke, Lindsay Lou, and Bruce Cockburn.
The lineup also includes Murphy Campbell, the Kolodner brothers, Hannah and Nathan, and Mad Uncle Harry. The show serves as a weekly slot within the station's Folk Strip, which runs from 5:30 a.m. to 7:00 a.m. on weekdays. A collective of approximately 12 volunteer programmers curates the music for this segment.
The station launched the show to provide a consistent morning outlet for folk and roots music. Listeners can access past episodes and playlists through the station's website and mobile application. The format allows the community to share new recordings without waiting for a full album release.
The Friday broadcast will include previews for upcoming live performances by Chris Smither, Emily Scott Robinson, and the duo of Peter Rowan and Sam Grisman. The show will also feature selections from David Rawlings, Cahalen Morrison, and Pharis and Jason Romero. Additional artists in the rotation include Dougie MacLean, Low Lily, and Alice Howe.
A calendar segment scheduled for 6:30 a.m. will announce concerts and festivals planned for the next two months. The station invites listeners to contact the show team at cascadiacoffeehouse@gmail.com to share feedback or suggest artists. The broadcast will air live on the station's frequency on Friday, November 6.
