iPhone Duo launches with stylus and fast charger left out of the box
Apple’s first foldable phone excludes the charger and stylus from its box, forcing owners to spend up to $249 on third-party hardware for core functions.

Apple’s iPhone Duo is now available for purchase, but the device’s full functionality requires additional spending. The phone’s box includes a USB-C cable, yet it lacks the power adapter needed to trigger fast charging and the stylus required for Apple Pencil support.
The iPhone Duo supports writing and sketching on both its inner and outer displays. Apple stated that the design reflects the proportions of a standard A-series paper notebook. This feature will activate next week via the iOS 27.2 update. Only the Apple Pencil with a USB-C connector is compatible. The stylus is currently listed at $69, a reduction from its standard $79 price.
Fast charging allows the device to reach 50 percent battery in approximately 20 minutes, but only when connected to a suitable power adapter. Because the box does not include a charger, owners must purchase one separately. Apple’s 40W Dynamic Power Adapter, which supports 60W maximum output, is priced at $34, down from $39. An alternative option is Anker’s 100W USB-C charger with a five-foot cable, available for $29.
For users who drive, a magnetic car mount is recommended to display navigation maps. The ESR MagSafe Car Mount clips to air vents and is currently priced at $19, down from $29. This accessory pairs with CarPlay to show step-by-step directions on the phone’s larger display while the car screen handles primary mapping.
Protection options for the foldable screen vary in price. Third-party cases include the SPIDERCASE Magnetic Case, which features a built-in stand and screen protector for $29. The Spigen Ultra Hybrid Pro offers a clear, MagSafe-compatible design for $39. Apple sells two proprietary options: the iPhone Duo Case at $79 and the iPhone Duo Folio with Kickstand at $129.
The iPhone Duo also enhances StandBy mode, allowing the phone to display smart home views while standing upright, even if it is not connected to a power source. Two specific views, Home Camera and Home Modular, provide access to compatible accessories. Tech reviewers suggest the Aqara G100 2K camera at $39 or a eufy 4K camera at $69 for users who want to monitor security cameras at a glance.
A non-specific recommendation for the device includes the AirPods Pro 3, currently on sale for $199, down from $249. The source notes that the noise cancellation features assist with focus during work hours. These audio devices are not exclusive to the iPhone Duo but are listed as a complementary purchase for new owners.
