Samsung Japan has published a specific schedule for 40 Galaxy smartphones and tablets to receive One UI 9, the company's latest operating system built on Android 17. The rollout for these devices will occur during October and November 2026. This timeline provides a concrete end date for Japanese owners of these models to receive the new software.
The list includes flagship phones such as the Galaxy S26 series, Galaxy S25 series, Galaxy S24 series, and Galaxy S23 series. Foldable devices on the roster include the Galaxy Z Fold 7, Z Flip 7, Z Fold 6, Z Flip 6, Z Fold 5, and Z Flip 5. Mid-range options listed are the Galaxy A57, A55, A54, A36, and A25.
Tablets receiving the update include the Galaxy Tab S11, S11 Ultra, S10, S10+, S10 Ultra, S10 FE, S10 FE+, S10 Lite, S9, S9+, S9 Ultra, S9 FE, and S9 FE+. The list also covers the Galaxy Tab S6 Lite (2024), Tab A11, Tab A11+/5G, and Tab Active 5 Pro. One UI 9 first launched in September on the Galaxy S26 series.
Samsung notes that this schedule applies strictly to the Japanese market. However, the selection of eligible devices is expected to apply globally. The company plans to continue rolling out the software to other regions beyond the Japanese timeline.
Many entry-level devices are likely to receive the update through December and January. The published list is not exhaustive and omits several obvious candidates, including the "Plus" versions of recent Galaxy S flagships and many other Galaxy A models.
The update brings the new features of Android 17 to these devices. Samsung has confirmed the availability of the software for the listed models. The rollout process will continue as the company distributes the build across its supported hardware.
