Halloween week on "Dancing with the Stars" ended with a double elimination and a perfect score.

The ten remaining couples performed routines inspired by horror films, a theme that required specific costumes and choreography. The show aired on Wednesday, October 28. Because no one was eliminated in the previous episode, the judges voted to send two couples home that night. Jackson Olson and Emma Slater, along with Tyler Cameron and Sharna Burgess, were the final contestants to leave the competition.

Harry Shum Jr. and his professional partner Jenna Johnson received the highest scores of the night. They performed a contemporary dance to "Toxic" by 2WEI, styled after the movie "Saw." All four judges awarded them a score of 10, resulting in a total of 40 out of 40 points. Bruno Mars stated he could taste the fear in the routine. Carrie Ann Inaba called the performance perfect and impactful. Derek Hough praised their partnership and acting skills. Shirley Ballard said she had not seen a routine like it before. With this score, Shum and Johnson reached a combined total of 76 points for the week.

Amber Glenn and Pasha Pashkov placed second with 36 points. Their Argentine tango to "Perfection" by Clint Mansell was inspired by "Black Swan." The judges noted their musicality and floor usage. Glenn and Pashkov now hold a combined total of 74 points for the week.

Jenna Dewan and Val Chmerkovskiy also scored 37 points on the night, bringing their two-night total to 74. Their Argentine tango to "Uninvited" was inspired by zombie films. Derek Hough said it was one of the best Argentine tango routines he had seen on the show. Carrie Ann Inaba described the dance as perfection.

Ezra Frech and Daniella Karagach earned 35 points for their jazz routine inspired by "The Invisible Man." They are dancing with an injury, a detail Carrie Ann Inaba acknowledged. Their combined score for the week stands at 72.

Connor Wood and Rylee Arnold received 37 points for a contemporary dance inspired by "Annabelle: Creation." Derek Hough outlined the reasons he believed the routine was flawless. Their combined total is 69.

Jackson Olson and Emma Slater scored 35 points for a contemporary routine inspired by "Joker." They were eliminated despite a strong performance. Their two-night total was 67. Maura Higgins and Mark Ballas also scored 32 points for a contemporary dance inspired by "The Lost Boys," but they stayed in the competition. Their total was 67.

Julia Stiles and Ezra Sosa placed ninth with 26 points. Their Argentine tango to "The Dogs Attack" was inspired by "The Omen." The judges noted technical issues and stiffness in the performance. Their combined total is 62.

Tatyana Ali and Jan Ravnik scored 28 points for a paso doble inspired by the movie "Sinners." Their total for the week is 60. Tyler Cameron and Sharna Burgess finished last with 26 points. Their Viennese waltz was inspired by "Bram Stoker's Dracula." The judges cited technical flaws in the dance. Their combined total was 58.

The remaining seven couples will perform again on Monday, November 2. The theme for that episode is Disney Night. Cynthia Erivo will serve as the special guest judge.
