Eagles and Cowboys Face Off at 2-4 to Break Historic NFC East Skid
Philadelphia hosts Dallas Monday night seeking to end a six-game winless streak for the division that has not occurred since the 1970 merger.

The New York Giants hold the only winning record in the NFC East at 3-2-1, while the Dallas Cowboys and Philadelphia Eagles meet Monday night in Philadelphia as both teams sit at 2-4. The matchup offers a chance to interrupt a rare divisional trend: every team in the conference played twice over the previous two weeks without a single victory. This marks the first time since the 1970 AFL-NFL merger that all four teams in a division went winless across two consecutive weeks.
The Eagles are attempting to stop a four-game losing streak, their longest since 2020. Their offensive production has stalled, with the team scoring only 58 points across those four losses. Quarterback Jalen Hurts is on injured reserve for the remainder of the season due to blood clots, leaving backup Tanner McKee to lead the offense. McKee entered last week's loss to Carolina with just two days of first-team practice. This week, he has a full week to prepare with first-year offensive coordinator Sean Mannion. McKee said he feels he has a good preparation process and plans to meet more often with the coaching staff rather than preparing alone.
The Eagles' running game faces its own depth issues. Saquon Barkley has missed more than two games with a hamstring injury, and backups Will Shipley and Tank Bigsby are also hurt. Carson Steele, signed from the practice squad last week, injured his shoulder against Carolina. Dameon Pierce was the only healthy running back for that game, rushing for 35 yards. The Cowboys allow 4.7 yards per carry this season, a number that may matter for McKee's ground attack.
Dallas brings its own struggles to the game. The Cowboys rank 30th in the league on defense under first-year coordinator Christian Parker. Offensively, the team scored just 29 points in its last two losses, including a 23-13 defeat to Green Bay last week. This is the first time since 2019 that Dallas has scored fewer than 20 points in consecutive starts by quarterback Dak Prescott. Owner Jerry Jones stated at the NFL's annual fall meeting on Wednesday that he does not expect further coaching changes this season. He described the recent hiring of defensive assistant Mike Pettine as a strategic and unique move.
Individual milestones are in play for both rosters. Javonte Williams is the second Cowboys player with seven rushing touchdowns through the first six games of a season, behind Emmitt Smith's totals from 1994 and 1995. CeeDee Lamb has 48 receptions, the most in franchise history through six games, and is closing in on 8,000 career receiving yards. Eagles tight end Dallas Goedert needs one catch to move into third place on the franchise's career receptions list.
The Cowboys are favored by 4 points. Dallas is 3-3 against the spread, while Philadelphia is 1-5. The Cowboys lead the all-time series 72-58 and won the last meeting 24-21 on Nov. 23, 2025. Kickoff is at 7:15 p.m. CST on ESPN. The Eagles play at Washington on Nov. 1, then host the Giants to conclude their divisional schedule.
