Wisconsin women’s tennis concluded a Saturday doubleheader with two 7-0 victories, improving its season record to 6-0. The Badgers defeated Bradley in the first match and then shut out Green Bay in the second, maintaining an undefeated streak that stands as the program's best opening stretch since 1992.

The team established early control in doubles, winning both events without dropping a set. Freshman MaryAnn Rompf and senior Kelsey Grambeau defeated Theresa Tebon and Tallie Piaskowski, 6-1. In the second doubles match, sophomore Melissa Pick and freshman Lexi Keberle beat Maria Neff and Samm Pedersen, 6-0.

Wisconsin players did not lose a single set in the singles competition. Keberle won the first singles match against Tebon, 6-1 and 6-1. Her performance gives her a combined individual record of 7-0 across singles and doubles this season. Rompf won the second singles match against Piaskowski, 6-3 and 6-1.

The Badgers completed the sweep in the remaining singles positions. Michelle Linden defeated Sterre Tijssens, 6-1 and 6-0. Pick shut out Neff, 6-0 and 6-0. Christina Zordani beat Pedersen, 6-0 and 6-1, improving her personal singles record to 5-0.

Green Bay fielded a limited roster for the second match, with only five players available to compete. Head coach Kelcy McKenna attributed the team's success to their management of effort, attitude, and energy. McKenna noted that the team must continue focusing on daily drills and match simulations to prepare for upcoming competition.

Despite the perfect record, McKenna identified specific areas for improvement, particularly in doubles serves and returns. She emphasized the need for the team to be aggressive and precise with service plays. The coach also stressed the importance of carrying momentum from a doubles victory into singles matches without giving away free points.

Wisconsin's next match is scheduled for Feb. 9-12. The Badgers will host the National Team Indoor Championship, where they aim to extend their unbeaten season.
