Fresno State defeated Oregon State 38-22 on Saturday night in Fresno, California.
Jayden Mandal threw two touchdown passes to Josiah Freeman and rushed for two scores. Bryson Donelson added 108 rushing yards and a touchdown to secure the win for the Bulldogs.
The defense limited the Beavers to their lowest point total of the season. Fresno State recorded five sacks, with Dylan Hampsten accounting for two. The defensive pressure disrupted the Oregon State offense, which failed to convert three fourth downs and lost two fumbles.
Brad Atkinson completed 33 of 59 passes for 373 yards and one touchdown for Oregon State. The Beavers, now 5-3 overall and 3-1 in the Pac-12 Conference, lost for the first time since their season opening defeats. Fresno State improves to 5-3 overall and 2-2 in conference play. The Bulldogs had lost their previous two games before this victory. Both teams return to action next Saturday, with Oregon State hosting Texas State and Fresno State traveling to Utah State.
