Jared Goff completed a 7-yard touchdown pass to Jameson Williams with 4 minutes and 35 seconds remaining to secure a 19-15 victory for the Detroit Lions over the Minnesota Vikings. The result ends the Vikings' undefeated season, which had lasted since their last loss on November 30, 2025, in Seattle.
The Lions, now 5-2, have won three consecutive games. They also captured their first two division matchups in the NFC North. The Vikings, now 6-1, saw their league-leading defense fail to preserve a late lead in Detroit.
Jahmyr Gibbs powered the Detroit offense with 153 rushing yards. He scored on a 30-yard run in the third quarter that broke the game open. Goff finished 18 of 25 for 176 yards with one touchdown and his first interception of the season.
Kyler Murray led the Vikings' offense with 210 passing yards on 17 of 29 attempts. He threw two touchdowns and one interception while the team managed only 81 rushing yards. Justin Jefferson caught a 1-yard touchdown pass in the second quarter to give Minnesota an early 7-3 lead.
The scoring sequence shifted in the fourth quarter. Murray connected with T.J. Hockenson on an 8-yard touchdown pass and completed a 2-point conversion to Jordan Addison, putting Minnesota ahead 15-12. Goff responded with the winning drive to close the game.
Injuries affected both rosters during the contest. Vikings safety Theo Jackson suffered a quad injury. Lions linebacker Jack Campbell was carted off with a neck injury and taken to a hospital. Safety Brian Branch and edge defender DJ Wonnum were evaluated for concussions after a late second-quarter collision and did not return to the field.
The Vikings will host the Buffalo Bills on Monday, November 9. The Lions travel to Miami for their next game on Sunday.
