Betting markets set the total points for Monday night's game between the Cleveland Cavaliers and the Minnesota Timberwolves at 231.5. A predictive model from SportsLine projects the final score will reach 236 combined points, a number that would exceed the current line by 4.5 points.

The matchup takes place at Rocket Arena in Cleveland with tipoff scheduled for 7 p.m. ET. Cleveland is listed as a 5.5-point favorite against the visitors. The Timberwolves enter the game with a perfect 3-0 record, while the Cavaliers are 1-1 in their season opener.

Minnesota won its most recent contest 117-94 against the Toronto Raptors on Sunday. Cleveland defeated the Brooklyn Nets 125-121 on Saturday. The Timberwolves are 2-0 on the road in the 2026-27 season. Cleveland is 1-0 at home.

Anthony Edwards is listed as questionable due to knee injury management. He has started all three games for Minnesota this season. In those contests, he averages 28.7 points, five rebounds, 3.3 assists, and two steals in 31.3 minutes per game. Six players on the Timberwolves roster average at least 12 points per game.

Donovan Mitchell leads the Cavaliers in scoring. He has started two games and averages 27 points, 7.5 rebounds, 3.5 assists, 1.5 steals, and one block in 35.5 minutes per game. The over on the total points line has hit in each of the last four meetings between these two teams. The over also hit in five of Minnesota's last eight games and seven of Cleveland's last ten.

The SportsLine model simulates every NBA game 10,000 times to generate its predictions. Since 2018, the model has generated nearly $19,000 in profit for players who followed its top-rated NBA picks. It is currently on a 26-10 record on those spread picks dating back to the previous season. The model projects the over to hit 56% of the time for this specific matchup.
