Working families and tourists on the Thai island of Koh Phangan may see a stricter enforcement of visitor rules starting now. Local authorities have recommended revoking the visa of a 33-year-old Israeli woman. This action follows multiple complaints about her conduct toward hotel employees and other guests. The move signals a continued push by local leaders to maintain order in popular tourist areas.

The Special Committee for Reviewing the Behavior of Foreign Nationals made the announcement on Thursday. The woman, identified as Einav Ashuel, faces allegations of threatening and abusive behavior. Local police received specific complaints regarding her interactions with staff and visitors. The committee decided to refer the case to immigration police for further action.

District administration officials stated that two police complaints were filed against Ashuel. The allegations cover incidents at Than Sadet National Park and a local hotel. Officials say she used services without payment during these visits. They also claim she shouted, cursed, and insulted staff members. Reports indicate she threatened physical harm to both employees and tourists.

The recommendation was finalized after a meeting chaired by District Chief Paisit Thongcharoen. The session included local police commanders and representatives from immigration and tourist police. Senior local officials also attended the review. The committee agreed that the behavior warranted a formal review of her immigration status. The case is now with immigration authorities for the next steps.

It remains unclear if the visa has already been revoked or if Ashuel has been deported. Her representatives have not yet provided a response to the recommendation. Israel's Foreign Ministry has also not issued a statement regarding the case. The situation highlights the ongoing process for handling foreign visitors who draw complaints from local businesses.

This case follows several other recent actions involving Israeli visitors in Thailand. In late March, the same committee recommended revoking the visas of three Israelis. They had displayed Chabad Messiah flags and handed out leaflets on nearby Koh Tao. They used WhatsApp groups to invite people to Passover activities. Thai officials said the events worried residents and business owners. A report on a Chabad website later confirmed the three were deported.

In September, Prime Minister and Interior Minister Anutin Charnvirakul signed a deportation order. The order targeted Israeli citizen Yaakov Ohayon on Koh Samui. He had been convicted of making threats during a dispute at a local zoo. A court gave him a suspended 15-day prison sentence and a fine of 5,000 baht. A deportation order was also issued against the zoo's French owner over his conduct in the same dispute.

The tougher approach extends beyond visitors from one country. In early April, the Koh Phangan district chief announced that 13 foreign tourists had their visas revoked. The revocations were due to inappropriate behavior during the preceding period. He said inspections and monitoring would continue. The goal is to protect the safety of both residents and visitors on the island.

The Israeli Embassy in Bangkok issued a special warning to travelers in May. This followed stepped-up enforcement of local laws in Phuket province. Officials told local agencies to impose stricter penalties on violators. The embassy urged Israelis in Thailand to follow local rules. It warned that strict penalties, including visa revocation, could apply in serious cases.
